The Dresher Center invites applications for new Faculty Working Groups in the Humanities. Faculty Working Groups are collaborative, interdisciplinary communities of scholars working on humanities projects, research concerns, or matters of public interest. The Dresher Center provides support for the formation and first-year activities of these groups in an effort to promote intellectual exchange and support research activities in the humanities among scholars across campus. Working groups meet regularly and may also use their funds to travel to sites or archives, host speakers, explore technologies, create new resources or materials, or other similar activities.

 Faculty Working Groups can apply for up to $1,000 in annual support ($500 per semester) for their first-year activities. Priority will be given to groups with at least one member from a humanities department.

Apply by April 1, 2016 for groups beginning or continuing in fall 2016.

Maker Educator Coach - DC/NOVA: FutureMakers is a growing team of maker education coaches - makers who teach, and teachers who make - with active practices as designers, tinkerers, artists, technologists, and exceptional educators. We’re seeking makers and educators who consider themselves experts in technologies, fabrication traditions, STEAM and maker education, and are ready to grow unique learning experiences that will change how a young person sees themselves in the world!

The MFA Fellows Program is dedicated to providing hands-on experience in arts management and non-profit leadership to recent college graduates. The MFA Exhibitions Fellowship is a full time entry-level position in arts management, approximately 35 hours per week but more as needed, beginning June 1 2016 and ends June 30 2017.

2016 BSO Academy Week Internships

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra seeks motivated individuals for the following internships for our 2016 BSO Academy Week. These internships offer college students and aspiring arts administrators excellent opportunities to learn about the operations of a symphony orchestra and get first-hand experience with one of the BSO’s flagship educational programs.

UNIT: REFERENCE - REFERENCE STUDENT - WEB ASSISTANT

Purpose:Provide support for Reference Department by assisting with web-based tutorial development activities, compiling data, and producing reports.

Reports to: Sarah New, Web Services Librarian

Duties:The Reference Student - Web Assistant will assist the Web Services Librarian by:

• Assisting with the design, creation, and editing of online tutorials

• Compiling results of assessment activities and assisting with other special reports

• May also have the opportunity to participate in and provide support for various other reference-related projects.

Skills required:The assistant should have technical competence with computers and databases, and experience with media creation and/or screen capture creation software, such as Adobe Illustrator, TechSmith Camtasia or Adobe Captivate.

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience recording audio using software such as Audacity; or who have graphic design and/or animation experience.  Applicants will be asked to share a portfolio of their work.

Schedule:Up to 10 hours per week during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters; work hours are somewhat flexible.

Pay Scale:$10.25 per hour
