The Creative Alliance, a community-based art center, seeks to fill a part-time position of bookkeeper. Located at The Patterson, a former 1930s movie theater, the Creative Alliance is among the region's leading presenting venues, with two galleries, a 200 seat theater, classrooms, media lab, studio residencies and lounge/restaurant. We're committed to connecting the great and diverse artists of Baltimore to its great and diverse audiences, and having fun doing so.

Farewell...for now

So I am excited and a little sad to say that my time at UMBC, as an undergraduate student, has come to an end. It has been a great experience and I can’t begin to thank everyone who has helped to make it so. entreSpace has become second homes on campus for me. Gib Mason and Vivian Armor have been like family to me and I can't begin to say 'Thank You' enough. But, most of all, the relationships I have built with many of you (student entrepreneurs) has been fantastic and I am so excited to see the businesses, products, services, you create and the social issues you solve. I live in Baltimore, will still be on campus occasionally (working on Banana Bones), and am more than happy to go grab coffee with any of you to chat business.

Moving Forward

It is now my honor to introduce you all to Amanda Mancuso, the newest Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship marketing intern. Amanda is working on her degree in human centered computing and will be transitioning into her Master’s Program in the summer. She is a very active member of Delta Phi Epsilon and has been working as a social media marketing guru for a local energy company for over a year.

I have no doubt that she is going to do amazing things with this role and take it to levels I wasn’t able to.

Good luck with the upcoming semester and thanks for all the great memories. Many more to come!

Creative Alliance seeks a part-time Box Office Assistant to act as an ambassador for Creative Alliance, assist patrons, and help with day to day operations of the box office (ticket sales, administrative projects, etc). We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and truly believes in Creative Alliance’s mission. This position mainly consists evening and weekend hours during performances, screenings, and special events. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment, while still able to put the customer experience first.

Single Carrot Theatre seeks male actors of color to perform in its upcoming production of Utopia Parkway by Charles Mee and directed by SCT's Artistic Director Genevieve de Mahy. Must be able to carry a tune, and must be willing to work collaboratively. The ideal candidate would be available for most rehearsals and all of tech and performances (pertinent dates listed below). The ability to play one or several musical instruments is a plus.

The National Endowment for the Humanities Division of Research will conduct a regional grant-writing workshop at UMBC on Friday, February 20, 2015 (inclement weather date on February 27), from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in UC 312. Registration is required.

Sessions will include NEH grant and fellowship programs, proposal writing, and the NEH peer review process. Faculty may also register for a limited number of 15-minute appointments with the NEH program officer in the afternoon to discuss specific grants and project ideas (first-come, first serve). Spotlighters Theatre seeks Education Director

About the Academy

Spotlighters Theatre's Young Actors Academy is a year round theatre education program offering training to youth in the Baltimore metro area through an academic and conservatory style approach. The program is designed and facilitated by instructors who work in K-12 schools, colleges/universities, and local, regional and LORT theatres. Our aim is to provide opportunities for serious young actors who want to have fun!

Center Stage seeks experienced Grants Manager. The Grants Manager is responsible for all government and foundation funding including extensive prospect research and cultivation of existing funders. A major focus will be prospect research and strategy development. Primary duties include managing grant application process for federal, state, and local government entities, as well as local and national foundations; preparing application proposals for both annual and special project funding; managing proposal and reporting deadlines.

The Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC new Children’s Theatre Program is seeking an Assistant Stage Manager for its production of The Wizard of Oz presented at the Gordon Center for Performing Arts. The ASM will report to the Stage Manager and assist with all of their production responsibilities.
