FREE Cloud Storage & Data Hosting for Student-Led Startups
A Message from Haven Cloud Founders!
Hello Retriever Entrepreneurs,
We're excited to announce that Haven Cloud (havencloud.io) is offering free cloud storage and data hosting for all student-led startups at UMBC.
Haven Cloud is a UMBC startup led by two CS/CE seniors who won 1stplace in the 2022 CBIC and 3rdplace & Best Speaker awards in the 2021 Fall Idea Competition. Haven Cloud was also accepted and participated in three startup accelerators, including the prestigious John's Hopkins Fuel accelerator.
From the founders: Haven is the world's first decentralized, end-to-end encrypted and privacy focused cloud storage app. We've launched on iOS & Android and are currently building a desktop application for Windows & Mac. We want to give back to the entrepreneurship community and offer our platform for free to all student startups.
Student-led small businesses, such as photography, wedding planning, design, real estate, restaurant, content creation-oriented businesses, etc., can use our "Haven for Enterprise" desktop application to secure their files for free post-launch.
Software and tech startups can use our Enterprise application for cloud backups, or our newly developed public API for object storage and data hosting as an alternative to AWS S3. We're willing to integrate our API into every UMBC software startup's codebase for free.

The 2022 Idea Competition Final Event

What a night! Last Thursday evening, The Alex. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ABCEI) hosted its annual Idea Competition Finale. The 2022 event included eleven finalist teams that presented their idea pitches in front of an audience of students, professors, and community members as well as our esteemed panel of judges. This year, the ABCEI team added two tracks to the Idea Competition for students to enter: Technology & Innovation and Social Impact.
Technology & Innovation Track:
1st Place: Braiding Buddy- Kaiya Meggett
2nd Place: Lyme-Aide- Jaina Peveto
3rd: AirCloset- Favour Sunday
Social Impact Track:
1st Place: Frugal Foodie- Jacob Funk, Chinat Yu, Sajiv Gnanasekaran, & Luis Rivas
2nd Place: Retrievers Essential Nitro- Michael Fakus
3rd Place: Liftr- Robin Paranilan & Brian Rzepkowski
