In a Chamber Music Maryland first, Anderson & Roe Piano Duo, hailed as “the most dynamic duo of this generation,” joins forces with acclaimed Baltimore rapper and poet Wordsmith for an electrifying fusion of classical virtuosity and hip-hop storytelling. Created exclusively for Chamber Music Maryland, this groundbreaking collaboration explores themes of light, unity, and transcendence, culminating in a world premiere that redefines the concert experience. Wordsmith’s original poetry and performance are woven throughout, adding a fresh narrative voice to works like the evocative Nocturne on Neptune and new music developed in real time.
This concert is more than a performance—it’s a bold reimagining of what classical music can be in 2026.
The program:
- Prokofiev: Symphony No. 1 in D major, Op. 25, “Classical” (arranged for two pianos)
- Holst, arr. by (Anderson & Roe / Wordsmith): Nocturne on Neptune
