    to vacate 24 hours after their last exam, or by May 24 at 8 p.m., whichever
    comes first.  Additionally, we are encouraging residents to consider
    taking items home or moving out early, if possible, to help prevent crowding.
    While students are not required to vacate early, if this is something you would
    like to consider please make sure you are following the instructions below.</span></p>

    <p><strong><span>Check-Out Procedures</span></strong><span></span></p>

    <p><span>You may schedule a
    check-out time with your RA or complete an express checkout in order to avoid a
    $50 improper check-out charge.  These are your two options:</span></p>

    <p><strong><span>Express Check-Out</span></strong><span> | This is the fastest and easiest way to check out of
    a room.</span></p>

    <ol>
    <li><span>Residents should bring
    their UMBC ID card to their community desk to be deactivated after all of their
    personal items are removed from their room.</span></li>
    <li><span>They will be asked to
    complete an <a href="https://forms.gle/AXNPykBqxGXkor257" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>electronic Checkout Receipt.</span></a></span></li>
    <li><span>Residential Life will
    inspect their room at a later time for potential damages and/or cleaning
    charges.</span></li>
    </ol>

    <p><strong><span>Traditional
    Check-Out |</span></strong><span> This option is
    for residents who would prefer to be present while a RA completes the checkout
    inspection and/or who know they have caused damage to their room. RAs
    conducting checkouts will inform residents of potential cleaning or damage
    charges at the appointment. </span></p>

    <ol>
    <li><span>Students should
    schedule an appointment with a staff member at least 48 hours before departing.</span></li>
    <li><span>The student should
    ensure all items are removed from their room and they a present at the time of
    their scheduled inspection.</span></li>
    <li><span>After their room is
    inspected, residents should bring their UMBC ID card to their community desk to
    be deactivated.</span></li>

    complete an <a href="https://forms.gle/AXNPykBqxGXkor257" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><span>electronic Checkout Receipt</span></a>.</span></li>
    <li><span>Residential Life will
    reinspect the room after all residents have vacated.</span></li>

    <p><strong><span>Prior to checking out,
    you should:</span></strong><span></span></p>

    items.</span></li>
    <li><span>Clean your bathroom
    and personal spaces well.</span></li>

    if applicable, and dispose of perishable items.</span></li>
    <li><span>Remove and dispose of
    all trash in a trash room or a dumpster. Please take large items and bulk trash
    to dumpsters placed near your community.</span></li>
    <li><span>If you rented a
    microfridge, defrost, unplug, and prop microfridge doors open.</span></li>
    <li><span>Set the thermostat
    between 70-72 (A/C) degrees.</span></li>
    <li><span>Turn off water.</span></li>
    <li><span>Turn off lights and
    bathroom exhaust fans.</span></li>

    <strong>Films:</strong>  </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>1.
     "In a Different Key"- Autism documentary that centers on the experience
     of Autism within neurotypical communities: From Patient Zero in rural
    Mississippi, initial discernment with Johns Hopkins healthcare
    providers, history of healthcare and structural inequality, as well as
    hope. This film centers on people on the autism spectrum within their
    families and community, and is available for free through PBS. For more
    information and to view it, please visit the website at <a href="https://www.pbs.org/show/different-key/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">https://www.pbs.org/show/different-key/</a>
    </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>Synopsis: <span>A
     mother of a young adult with autism tracks down the first person ever
    diagnosed with autism, now an elderly man living in rural Mississippi,
    to learn if his life story holds promise for her own autistic son. Her
    journey exposes a startling record of cruelty and kindness alike, framed
     by forces like race, money, and privilege – but leads to hope that more
     communities are learning to have the backs of people on the spectrum.
    The documentary shows the lived experience of a diverse mix of people
    with autism within family, community, and transitioning toward
    independence.</span>
    </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>
    <span>2. </span>"Feeling
     Through"- Academy Award-nominated film produced by Marlee Matlin, an
    American actress, and activist who is recognized as being the first Deaf
     performer to win an Academ<span>y Award (Best Actress, 1986). The film "Feeling Through" stars the </span><span>only award-winning DeafBlind actor and the only DeafBlind member of the Screen Actors Guild.   </span><span>For more information, please visit the "Feeling Through" website at </span><a href="https://www.feelingthrough.com/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">https://www.feelingthrough.com/</a><span>. </span><span>(Please

    film organizers are accepting donations to further their activism work
    for accessibility and disability representation in Hollywood). </span>
