Are you looking to earn while you learn? As an Intern working part time at T. Rowe Price, you will have an opportunity to work alongside our associates on various initiatives. The internship will provide you with a broader perspective of T. Rowe Price and assist you in understanding the importance of communication and collaboration in a multi-faceted work environment.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of experience directly related to the primary duties of the position.
Note: additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Preferred Experience:
-Strong interest in outreach and support of university students
-Interest and/or experience working with diverse population
of students
-Strong interest and/or experience in teaching or providing
instruction
Required Knowledge and Abilities:
-Ability to learn and apply contemporary library terminology
and functions
-Knowledge of basic principles of quality customer service
and teamwork
-Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications
skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to
exercise initiative in applying rules, procedures and instructions
-Ability to learn and operate a variety of common computing
and productivity applications and specialized library hardware, systems, and
software applications

Salary: Pay Range 10 (starting at $38,204) based on the University System of Maryland Pay Program
Work Hours:
Sunday 12:00 p.m. -8:30 p.m.
Monday - Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (with one weekday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m).
Hours are subject to change to reflect changes in library hours and staffing needs.

Please be advised that there will be permanent changes to the traffic patterns in the area of Commons Garage, Physics Building and The Commons prior to the start of the Fall 2017 semester. The Commons Circle is being replaced with a new drop-off circle between the Physics Building and Commons Garage. The new circle will provide a drop-off area for The Commons, Physics and other adjacent buildings. Personal vehicles will no longer be allowed to enter the Commons Circle as this area is now limited to service vehicles and deliveries. A new entrance to Lot 2 has also been constructed off of the new drop-off circle.
Vehicles traveling on Commons Drive wishing to use the new circle or park in Lot 2 should take a right on Park Road and an immediate left into the circle. Access to the Commons Garage remains unchanged as vehicles may continue to use both existing entrances. Please refer to the diagram below for additional information. Additional temporary signs will be provided in this area in an effort to help navigate the new traffic patterns.
The contractor will be finalizing the work at the new drop-off circle during the fall semester. UMBC Facilities Management will inform the UMBC community of any temporary vehicular or pedestrian traffic changes or closures.

Over the past year, proactive and reactive acts of resistance have electrified our country and world. Immediate images that flash through our minds include the water protectors at Standing Rock, the millions around the world who participated in the Women’s March, those who rushed to the airports to volunteer translation and legal assistance to immigrants and refugees in the immediate aftermath of the travel ban.
As these images of mass protests and large-scale actions continue to capture our attention, we also recognize the power of everyday acts of resistance. Social justice movements have been infused with a renewed sense of urgency, and for an ever-growing number of people, there is the will to be counted, to find voice, and to rise up.
While many are new to the struggle, the struggle itself is not new. We’re reminded by those who have long been active in these movements that the fight for justice is neither in its first breaths nor last gasps.
For the fifth annual Critical Social Justice, we’ll explore opportunities for building individual and collective resistance and resilience. Events throughout the week will challenge us to think about how we can do better, do more, and persist in doing it. How do we rise to meet the challenges of this particular cultural moment to work toward a vision of inclusive excellence—whether it’s in the classroom, online, or in our communities?
We’re excited to announce that our keynote speaker will be Native scholar and activist Dr. Adrienne Keene (Cherokee Nation), who writes about cultural appropriation and stereotypes of Native peoples in pop culture on her blog Native Appropriations. Keene examines the way Indigenous peoples are using new media to challenge racism, present authentic counter-narratives, and create innovative spaces for art and activism. The keynote lecture and reception will be held on Tuesday, October 24th at 6pm in the UC Ballroom.
