    <Title>NAVAIR Meet &amp; Greet for Students with Disabilities</Title>

          <div class="html-content">NAVAIR Individuals with Disabilities Recruitment Team (IWDRT) would like to invite all students with disabilities to a large interviewing session held at Patuxent River Naval Air Station with hiring managers throughout NAVAIR  on <strong>June 15th, 2011</strong>.  This is an INVITATION ONLY event. 
          
          <u>To be eligible for consideration of an invite a student must be</u>:
          ~graduating within 6 months 
          ~eligible for the Schedule A hiring authority
          
          To be eligible for Schedule A, you must have a severe physical or psychiatric disability and be able to provide medical documentation of the illness. 
          
          The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) provides full life-cycle support of naval aviation aircraft, weapons and systems operated by Sailors and Marines.   <Title>UNESCO Youth Forum Applications</Title>

    <![CDATA[
    <div class="html-content"><strong>Application Deadline:</strong> May 15
    
    The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Youth Forum is a biennial conference that brings together youth from over 80 countries to exchange views and identify shared opportunities to address global problems within UNESCO’s mandate. The outcome from the Forum will be forwarded to the UNESCO General Conference for consideration.
    
    This year, the Youth Forum will be in October at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. The National Commissions for UNESCO may send up to two candidates to represent youth in their home country. At the Forum, youth delegates will be expected to share their experiences and seek ways that UNESCO can promote a better future for youth, within its mandate.

          <div class="html-content">The Career Services Center surveys UMBC students each semester to learn more about the part-time jobs students work while in school.  Last spring, the average on-campus job hourly wage was $8.47, while the average hourly rate for off-campus jobs was $12.03.  Of  the students who responded, the average worked between 11-16 hours per week.  We'll be sending out this survey again this semester; keep your eyes peeled later this month and share your part-time work experience!</div>

They have made our department, in my view, unusually </span><span>student-friendly. Further, besides being just plain nice, my colleagues </span><span>work their students hard and set their standards high (something I try to </span><span>do too). At least until the semester’s stress subsides, I’m not sure most </span><span>students realize just how much time, creativity, and care most of my </span><span>colleagues put into their teaching and how sincerely they want their </span><span>students to succeed. But success does not mean an A along the path of </span><span>least resistance; it means acquiring the knowledge as well as the subtler </span><span>skills, demeanors and habits that mark an educated person and predict </span><span>long-run success in one’s studies and career.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div></div></div>
