Spades Tournament

//Where: Lower Flat Tuesdays

Each team plays each night and teams aim to get the most wins. Each team member of the winning team for the overall tournament will each receive a copy of the first and second season of In Living Color. Sign-up sheet is in the SEB office.

Come compete in Rock Band 3 in the Gameroom at 6pm for your chance to win a ticket to one of these Ram's Head Live shows ( "Never Shout Never, The Maine, I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business, Carter Hulsey, Reel Big Fish, The Aquabats, Suburban Legends, Koo Koo Kanga Roo, Railroad Earth, Cornmeal, Charm City Devils, Sweet Cyanide, So Low, School of Rock, The Comedians of Chelsea Lately, Hinder, Saving Abel, My Darkest Days, Default)! Fall Brawl: Battle of the Bands

UMBC bands battle to win a headlining slot at Quadmania. Come cheer your favorite band to victory! Crowd participation enhances their score. There will be free food, drinks, and a Make-Your-Own Fall Brawl t-shirt station. Bring your own t-shirt and you can use the stencils and paint provided to make your very own custom Fall Brawl shirt complete with the Brawlers from the poster. No admission charge, bring your friends! First band kicks off at 5pm.

Best R&B/Rap Song

After the astonishing attendance at the Rap Battle on October 8th, the best original R&B/Rap song portion had to be moved to November 12th. Come to the Sports Zone at 7pm to sign up or claim your spot early by emailing Rich at rbussey1@umbc.edu. Bring your track on an iPod, thumb drive, or CD. The winner will get a free one-song recording session in the UMBC studio

Hometown: Grand Forks, ND

Q: How long have you been at UMBC? 

A: Just over one year now.
Q:  What is your current title (job or student organization position)?

A: Graduate Coordinator of Volunteerism and Service.

Q: In 12 words or less, what role(s) do you play on campus?  

A: I work with students to develop volunteer projects that are both meaningful and fun!

Q: What aspect of your UMBC role(s) do you enjoy most?

 A: Definitely working with students.  Everyone here has such great energy and I love to be in the middle of it everyday.

Q: What is the most important or memorable thing you learned in college/have learned at UMBC? 

 A: To not be afraid to make mistakes.  If there is anytime when this acceptable (and I would even argue encouraged!) behavior, its in college/graduate school.  You don't truly know who you are unless you know your own limitations and learn to grow and improve from that knowledge.

 A: Netflix on rainy days, especially watching really, really bad horror flicks.

Q: Do you have any UMBC stories, little-known facts about UMBC, favorite spots on campus, or anything else you’d like to share? 

A: I'm a huge fan of that hiking path that twists and turns through the West side of campus.  I know a lot students know about that area, but I always find it a unique place to go when I need to get away from academia (and cars, computers and noisy cell phones).
