For students registered with SDS, now is the best time to check on the following items.

Make sure your instructors know about your testing accommodations:

• Finals are just 6 weeks away: May 14-20th.
• Last day of classes is Wednesday, 5/12/21. All coursework is generally due by the last day of classes.
• Email your instructors to remind them EVERY time you will be using testing accommodations (if you have test accommodations).  Notify instructors at least 2 weekdays prior to an exam. For example, send an email and be specific, reminding them you "will be using your 50% extended time for Friday's test".
• All timed exams are arranged through instructors in Spring 2021. Do not schedule tests with SDS at this time.
• If you have not submitted a Semester Request for Spring 2021, your instructors do not know you can use accommodations and no letter was sent from SDS. You may still submit Spring 2021 Semester Requests now, if you need to use approved accommodations for the remainder of the semester.
• Contact SDS if you have any questions or concerns about testing or your accommodations.

Withdrawal deadlines & incompletes:

• The final date to withdraw from a single course is April 6, 2021.
• The last day to withdraw from the whole semester is May 12.
• Work directly with the Registrar's office and your academic advisor if you decide to "W" (withdraw) from a course. 
• If needed, SDS staff can provide supplemental disability-related advising based on your circumstances.
• Requests for an Incomplete grade must be discussed and approved by your faculty member. You must have successfully completed (passing grades) 75% of the course to be eligible.

Plan ahead and contact SDS re challenges and due dates:

• If you have new disability or accommodation-related challenges impacting classes, contact SDS so that we can assist you in identifying support needs and solutions.

• If you are having difficulties with class participation and/or attendance that is related to COVID-19 (unrelated to your disability), please work with your instructor on identifying solutions.

• Please plan ahead for upcoming coursework and project due dates. Notify your instructors in advance of due dates if you are having difficulties and seek assistance. Remember to copy SDS so that we are aware of your request
• Communication is essential! SDS can work with your instructor on solutions when unforeseen disability-related circumstances arise. Contact us or copy us on emails to your faculty.
• Remember, any make-up work or assignment extension is for an individual assignment/test. Reasonable due dates based on the disability circumstances and assignment length are agreed upon between SDS, faculty and student. Typical extension length without point deduction may be 1-7 days, when necessary and appropriate.

Academic supports

• Tutoring, SI-PASS, Writing Center, study tips, success planning meetings, and more are available through the Academic Success Center.
• Counseling- The University Counseling Center is available for remote services and workshops, such as the Skills 4 Success workshops that meet on Wednesdays at 12 noon.

Registration for Summer and Fall 2021 courses is currently underway.

• Please meet with an academic/major advisor for authorization prior to your registration date.
• Most courses for Fall 2021 will be offered in-person.
• Applications for residential housing are due NOW.
