Renew Your Student Carpool Permit

Permits Expire Each Semester

The UMBC Carpool Lot is THE place to park on Campus. Located conveniently inside the loop, Lot 4 is a short walk from all of the academic buildings on campus.


  • Carpools must consist of at least 2 UMBC commuter students whose schedules match at least 50 percent of the time (please submit each member’s class schedule when applying). Carpool permits are valid in Lot 4 in the designated Carpool parking spots.

  • You may only have one car parked in the lot at any time. Carpool permits are enforced Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM. Carpool permits MUST be renewed each semester. Any parking citations issued to carpool participants are the responsibility of the owner/operator of the vehicle.

  • Any abuse of a carpool permit by participants, family members, non-UMBC students, or anyone not authorized to use carpool permit will result in the carpool permit being revoked.Save time searching for a space. Apply at https://parking.umbc.edu/carpooling/
