  <Title>PAID Social Media Intern Needed for Health Living Initiative</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><strong>Two Interns Needed for <a href="http://www.mollyshattuck.com/lifestyle/what-is-vibrant-living" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><u>Vibrant Living</u></a></strong><br>
    <br>
    This is a PAID internship, 120 hours over the course of the semester 
    for about 10 hours per week ($1,000 stipend paid out in two $500 
    payments).   The internship is funded by the The Shattuck Family Internship Program for Entrepreneurship Innovation and Social Change.<br>
    <br>
    The Main Focus of this internship is on SOCIAL MEDIA.<br><br>
    Sample of additional duties include:<br>
    - Help pull together a marketing toolkit, based on ideas from Molly 
    Shattuck, work that has already been done, and additional examples based
     on other similar kinds of initiatives<br>
    - Work to qualify and quantify the value/benefits that the program brings to individuals and groups<br>
    - Identify target companies/organizations that might represent prospective clients/customers for Vibrant Living<br>
    - Participate--as appropriate--in client-visits to understand feedback 
    and have that inform further development of the toolkit and materials.<br>

    The individuals could be from a range of majors, but should have 
    outstanding communication skills and be interested/experienced with 
    social media; be a self-starter/entrepreneurial type; be interested in 
    health/wellness.<br>

Lend me your ear!</p><p>Join us for Groundwork, an important event uniting the awesome power of Baltimore’s tech community with organizations and people who could greatly benefit from access to <a title="Open Data Sets" href="http://gb.tc/open-data-sets/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">open data</a> and the technological skills to analyze it.</p><p>Groundwork is a new way of mobilizing change at a local level. (Check out the <a title="Groundwork Schedule" href="http://gb.tc/groundwork/groundwork-schedule/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">schedule here</a>.) It’s a collaboration of policy makers, developers, local educators, and concerned citizens who will come together to analyze the pressing needs of Baltimore, mash up a giant pot of data, and come out with multiple solutions that can help solve some of the City’s biggest problems.</p><p>This is an opportunity affect critical change in Baltimore by working together with organizations in need, the federal Department of Health and Human Services, Governor’s offices (<em>both of whom will open never-before-seen data sets at Groundwork</em>,) and the Mayor’s office.</p><p>Come help us make a real difference. You’ll be involved in high-profile projects as an integral member of our working teams. <br><br>Job Description:<br><br>•    Performing raw material quality assurance activities and material performance <br>•    Conducting problem solving investigations and troubleshooting to assure root cause is identified, counter measures and recurrence prevention are fully implemented <br>•    Supporting quality improvement initiatives directly or indirectly with suppliers <br>•    Providing technical support and analytical analysis for material issues <br>•    Involvement with data flow diagrams/technical diagrams <br><br>Requirements:<br>•    Must be pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. <br>•    All candidates must have a minimum 2.8 GPA, at least sophomore standing. <br>•    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.<br>•    Problem solving, project management and communication skills are all necessary as is the ability to operate in a team environment. <br>•    Must have ability to generate accurate and concise technical reports.         <div class="html-content">Student leaders are an integral part of The Shriver Center's Service-Learning Program.  In partnership with UMBC, long-standing community partner College Gardens supports youth in their Community Center each day, Monday-Thursday, 2:15-5:45 pm. On Tuesdays &amp; Thursdays, College Gardens is without a Service-Learning Intern (who graduated this past May). <div><br></div><div>There is a small stipend for the position.  To be considered, candidates:</div><div><br></div><div><ol><li>Must be available Tuesdays AND Thursdays, 2:15-5:45 pm</li><li>Be willing to transport other UMBC students in a 12-passenger Shriver Center van (and have a valid Driver's License)</li><li>Attend Service-Learning Intern Meetings every other Friday, 12-1pm (there is one this Friday, 9/14) </li></ol></div><div>Those interested should complete an Intern Application via the link below and return it immediately to Service-Learning Program Coordinator Eloise Grose either via email at <a href="mailto:elgrose1@umbc.edu">elgrose1@umbc.edu</a> or in person at The Shriver Center, 1st floor of the Public Policy Building (just past the elevators).  </div><div><br></div></div>

    development. We are often preparing grants and because of our small size
     there are plenty of opportunities to work directly with our Executive 
    Director on a variety of things. We are just beginning an initiative in

    <p>Promote and nurture the education of students by planning
    and tailoring math, reading, or science based projects; monitoring, assisting
    with, and correcting, academic efforts; providing a safe environment conducive
    for learning.</p>
    
    
    
    <p><strong><span>Job Descriptions:</span></strong></p>
    
    <p>Duties:</p>
    
    <ul><li>Educates
         students by planning and developing math, reading, or science based
         projects according to the program guidelines and requirements.</li><li>Tailors
         course of study by developing modifications for several levels of academic
         ability and previous achievement.</li><li>Develops
         and presents lesson plans designed to engage students in learning
         recognizing different types of learning styles and supporting an
         atmosphere of learning that looks and feel different from a standard day
         school classroom.</li><li>Monitors
         and assist students with homework.</li><li>Support
         teacher with maintaining order in the classroom by counseling students
         with behavioral problems and consulting with classroom teacher.</li><li>Contribute
         to developing a safe, secure, and healthy educational environment by
         establishing, following standards and procedures established by Healthy
         Families, Healthy Communities.</li><li>Inform
         teachers and/or Program Coordinator of deterioration in achievement and
         students with academic difficulties.</li><li>Provide
         student support services by monitoring halls and activities. <br></li></ul>
    
    
    
    <p><strong>Skills/Qualifications:</strong></p>
    
    <p>Classroom Management, Verbal Communication, Resolving Conflict,
    Presentation Skills, Self-Motivated, Motivating Others, Listening, Deals with
    Uncertainty, Objectivity, Confidentially.</p>
