INCOSE Chesapeake Chapter Event

Abstract: Are you currently working on an organizational process improvement but do not know where to begin? Or perhaps you are considering a design thinking approach in your process improvement effort but do not know which techniques to use? Today, I will share my story about how I embarked in my biggest career challenge when as a DoD Systems Engineer. Design thinking is a powerful set of human-centered design techniques that systems engineers can combine with tools such as Lean Startup and Agile to quickly discover problems, and ideate solutions that are feasible, viable, desirable, and provide value to the organization. This presentation will provide a design thinking roadmap for navigating the unknown, discovering the most pressing problems, and ideal solutions for process improvement, while creating a common vision for the organization.
Speaker: Lymari Castro-Diaz is a Systems Engineer at the Department of Defense (DoD).
