Undergraduate workshop on dynamics of excitable systems, January 6-12, 2019
What makes your heart beat regularly or go out of control? Can chemical
reactions change colors continuously? What happens when you burn a candle
at both ends? How can mathematical modeling and computer simulation be
used to understand the heart's behavior?
If these questions sound interesting to you, we invite you to join us for
a one-week undergraduate workshop focused on the dynamics of excitable
physical and biological systems where interdisciplinary teams of students
will study these and other questions.
Priority review date: October 15, 2018. Applications will continue to be
reviewed until the workshop is full.
Instructors: Elizabeth Cherry (Rochester Institute of Technology) and
Flavio Fenton (Georgia Institute of Technology).
Travel and housing will be provided for approximately 12 non-local
participants (please request in application).
