2020 Spring Getting You Into Indiana University (GU2IU) Faculty Nominations
The Indiana University Graduate School will host Getting You into IU, a Bloomington campus visit program for prospective underrepresented and minority students on April 19-21, 2020.  This is an all-expense paid trip for highly qualified future PhD and MFA applicants to visit Indiana University Bloomington. Participants will be able to learn more about our doctoral and MFA programs, meet with faculty and current graduate students, learn more about Indiana University’s admissions process and graduate school funding options.

- Academic information/background of prospective GU2IU participant


The University Graduate School will review all completed applications after the application deadline. All applicants, both selected and not selected, will also be contacted by the University Graduate School.


GU2IU 2020 participants must:

- Be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
- Be seniors or master’s level students in good academic standing; or, degreed professionals interested in pursuing a PhD or MFA at Indiana University Bloomington.
- Complete a GU2IU Spring 2019 application form requesting demographic information, educational interests, non-official transcripts and a personal essay.

GU2IU visitors will:

- have the opportunity to meet with leading faculty in their area(s) of interest
- be able to meet and network with current graduate students in their area(s) of interest
- be provided with a tour of campus and/or relevant laboratories and research centers
- have the opportunity to speak with faculty and staff about strategies for submitting a competitive application


Indiana University University Graduate School will:

- arrange and provide reasonable transportation (air, rail, etc.) to campus
arrange and provide lodging at a hotel located near campus
provide GU2IU visitors with an automatic graduate application fee waiver

Selection Criteria
- This program is limited to 30 students for Spring 2020
- Preference will be for students that have completed their undergraduate degree prior to the 2020-21  academic    year

Faculty nominators are requested to contact their nominee and instruct them to complete the GU2IU Spring 2020 student application. Faculty nominations will be received thru March 4, 2020. Student applications will be due on the same day.
