          extremely heavy between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. due to several
          on-campus events.</span><span></span></p>
          
          <p><span>Please avoid traveling to and from campus
          during these hours and/or use alternative entrances and exits to campus (see
          below). Alternative work arrangements or schedules may be offered to employees
          at their supervisors’ discretion in order to avoid high traffic periods. All

          Wilkins Avenue (exit 12C-B).  Continue on Wilkins Avenue to a left on
          Walker Avenue then left on Hilltop Circle.</span><span></span></p>
          
          <p><strong><u><span>FROM POINTS SOUTH</span></u></strong><span></span></p>
          
          <p><span>Take 95 North to 195 West towards UMBC. If UMBC
          Boulevard is <u>backed up</u> stay to your left towards the park and
          ride and North Rolling Road. Make a right at North Rolling Road and then a
          right onto Wilkins Avenue. At roundabout make a right onto Hilltop Road and
          then left on Hilltop Circle.</span><span></span></p>

  <Title>Update on upcoming external event at UMBC</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Based on feedback from members of the community, we wanted to follow up to clarify a few details and add a date correction regarding the upcoming on-campus external event at the UMBC Event Center.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>The event will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each week, beginning tomorrow, Friday, July 12 and ending Sunday, August 18</strong>.</div><div><br></div><div>It is estimated there will be more than 5,000 attendees participating in the event over the next six weeks. In anticipation of heavier than normal traffic on the days we are open and the event takes place, UMBC police will be on-hand to direct traffic in all high-congestion areas. For alternative entrances and exits to campus, please see the details of our <a href="https://my3.my.umbc.edu/groups/police-announcements/posts/85348" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">previous post</a>.</div><div><br></div><div>Parking for the event is reserved for Stadium Lot, Lot 24, and Commons Garage. The event will be each Friday from July 12 through August 16. Expect heavy traffic on campus from 8:00 a.m to 9:00 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.</div><div><br></div><div>Please avoid travelling to and from campus during these hours and/or use alternative entrances and exits to campus (see below). Alternative work arrangements or schedules may be offered to employees at their supervisors’ discretion in order to avoid high traffic periods.           <p><span>On Thursday May 23<span>rd</span></span><span>  UMBC will hold spring commencement for undergraduate
          students at the Event Center. Extensive planning has taken
          place for this special day with many departments and stakeholders. </span></p>
          
          <p><span>Two commencements will take place
          that day, one beginning at 10:00 a.m. and a second one beginning at 4:00
          p.m.  We are expecting <strong><u>extremely </u></strong>heavy traffic
          between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m coming onto campus and then from 11:30 a.m. to
          1:30 p.m. exiting campus.  For the second commencement expect heavy

          <div class="html-content"><div>Crime Alerts are issued by the UMBC Police to alert the campus community of incidents on or near Campus.</div><div><br></div><div>Incident:Robbery (no weapons involved)</div><div><br></div><div>Location:1150 Linden Avenue (<strong><a href="https://tinyurl.com/y66fm4q2">https://tinyurl.com/y66fm4q2</a>) </strong></div><div><strong><br></strong></div><div>Date/time:May 1st, 2019 at approximately 4:15p.m.</div><div><br></div><div>On May 1st at approximately 4:20p.m. the UMBC Police were notified by the Baltimore County Police of a robbery that had taken place near Campus.  Three suspects approached the victim (non-student) from behind as he was walking in the area of 1150 Linden Avenue and demanded his money and cell phone.  </div><div><br></div><div>Individuals with any information about the incident should call the Baltimore County Police at 410-887-0872.</div><div><br></div><div>Safety Tips:</div><div>

Dr.<br></p><p>Date/time:          February 12, 2019 10 pm<br></p><p>On February 12 at 10 pm a male student was robbed and assaulted by two males, one had a knife, while walking to his vehicle. The males were described as African-american, 21 to 25 years of age. One was described as 6'0 tall with a deep voice and the other as 5'8. Both were wearing black hooded sweatshirts.
