Medical scribes work one on one with providers in a clinic setting. They are integral parts of the team and assist with documentation and workflow optimization. Scribes gain exposure to patient histories, physical examinations, medical decision making and procedures. Medical scribing is one of the only positions in the medical field that is paid and does not require any certification. The experience gained in a scribing position is invaluable and highly sought after. Healthcare training programs seek applicants with scribing experience. The skills acquired become the building blocks of their future careers.
