Tomashi Jackson: Art, Funding, and Community in Baltimore
Join Us For a Special Event with Tomashi Jackson!
The McNair Scholars Program and UMBC’s Center for Art, Design, and Visual Culture are collaborating to host and welcome renowned visual artist and painter Tomashi Jackson for a compelling discussion on her latest research project. Known for her vibrant and socially engaged work, Jackson will explore the history of funding for visual arts and humanities in Baltimore—examining federal, state, city, and local community contributions. Represented by Jack Tilton Gallery and LA’s Night Gallery, she brings a wealth of experience as an educator and visual arts facilitator at institutions such as Harvard and MIT. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with an artist and gain valuable insights!
Required for current scholars no matter the major. Friends of McNair are welcome to attend.
