Students will enroll in the spring semester course (3 credit Public Health elective, Culture GEP) and travel to Geneva, Switzerland during spring break to visit local and international public health sites and officials.     <h4>POSITION SUMMARY</h4>
    <p>The Northeast Regional Organizer plays a critical role in this work and is responsible for supporting chapters across the northeast region of the United States, working with Chapter Chairs, Leadership Committee members, and Climate Reality Leaders, to provide resources, trainings, and dedicated support. This position will work closely with Chapters running or interested in running Climate Reality campaigns, building tools for them to use and amplify amongst their Chapter membership, helping to train organizers, and generally acting as a personal point of contact for engaged volunteers.</p>
    <p>As a representative of the Global Field team, this position also assists in efforts to meet strategic program and organizational goals through outreach and partnership-building with new constituencies, building strong relationships within this region. States served in this region include West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and the District of Columbia.</p>
    <p>Currently reporting to the US Field Senior Manager, the Northeast Regional Organizer has no direct reports.</p>
    <p>This position is within a union-represented collective bargaining unit, and specific terms and conditions of employment will be subject to a collective bargaining agreement between Climate Reality and the union.</p>
    <p>This is a full time, hourly, non-exempt, benefits-eligible, hybrid position. The Climate Reality Project offers a flexible hybrid schedule, with staff working from our office in downtown Washington, DC at least two days per week to enable and encourage collaboration within and among teams. The salary for the role is $55,000 USD per year.</p>

Students will examine the influence of the physical, social and cultural environment on the health of women, children, and families in the United States, particularly those from historically marginalized communities. Using an ecological and life-course perspective, this course will provide an overview of historical and current policies and practices that have disproportionately impacted MCH populations in the United States. This course will also underscore the importance of a public health, multisector approach for improving outcomes.</div>

Students will work on an exploratory qualitative study to characterize the health and behaviors of documented non-naturalized immigrants and help co-author a manuscript for submission to an academic journal. Ideal candidates will have a passion for improving immigrant health, strong writing skills, some prior research experience, and be committed to long-term responsibility for this research. </span>
