Public Health BA at UMBC
Health Administration and Policy (HAPP) has a new name!
The Health Administration and Policy Program (HAPP) has changed the name of the major to Public Health. The BA in Public Health includes a core set of required courses and a choice of three tracks, Health Administration, Health Policy and Public/Population Health.

Public Health is housed in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Public Health (SAPH) in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS).
Sam completed his undergraduate degree at UMBC in the Public Health (then Health Administration and Policy) program, and his MPH (Master of Public Health) at Emory University. We miss you Sam!

HAPP COM (the Health Administration and Policy program Council of Majors) and AMWHO (the American Mock World Health Organization), along with many other student organizations, will be there to meet, greet, and provide information about their organizations. Council of Majors seeking Treasurer
Take a leadership position in our student organization
HAPP COM (soon to be Public Health COM) is looking for a treasurer for the 21-22 academic year. The treasurer will undergo SGA financial training and maintain the financial accounts for the Council. While our Council of Majors does not have complicated financials, it is a very important position in the executive board for the COM.
The requirements for participating in a leadership position in the COM are that the student must be a declared major, have a 2.5 or greater GPA, and still have at least fall 21 and spring 22 before graduation.
