Finally, we end our semester by looking at controversies in public health practice from the mid-twentieth century to the present.     <p>I hope this email finds you well. My name is Yeneca and I'm writing on behalf of the Mobilization &amp; Political Economy (MPE) Program at Pitt, an NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates program site. </p>
    <p> </p>
    <p><a href="https://mpeprogram.com/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">The MPE Summer Research Program</a> is designed to broaden participation of undergraduate students in the social sciences by training them to conduct research and support their placement in graduate studies programs. This is an 8-week summer program on Pitt's campus (June-July 2026) providing undergraduate students with training in research methods, the study of mobilization and political economy, as well as research and mentorship opportunities. </p>
    <ul>

    <div>Spend the season in a dynamic hospital learning about Operations, Finance, Supply Chain,</div>

    <div>health system! As an undergraduate intern, you will engage in executive-level projects, shadow</div>
    <div>healthcare providers and administrators, connect with healthcare leaders, and explore the day-to-</div>

    <div>Guided by our mission, Johns Hopkins Medicine is committed to the education of health care</div>
    <div>professionals across a wide range of disciplines. The HCMC – Johns Hopkins Medicine</div>
    <div>Undergraduate Hospital Internship offers a hands-on, specialized healthcare experience to</div>
    <div>undergraduate students. This semester long rotation-based program provides exposure to</div>
    <div>multiple hospital departments.</div>

    <div>Internship Offerings</div>
    <div>• Rotation-based experience through multiple departments such as Finance, Operations,</div>
    <div>Population Health, Human Resources, and more!</div>
    <div>• Potential exposure to all areas of Howard County Medical Center</div>
    <div>• Direct access to leaders of a world-class health system</div>
    <div>Howard County's growing population and changing demographic, as well as our expanding</div>

The Research Assistant will also contribute to active research initiatives by conducting literature reviews, organizing references, and assisting with manuscript drafting. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, reliable, and interested in interdisciplinary work on aging, health, and education. This role offers hands-on research experience, opportunities for skill development, and the chance to contribute to a dynamic, collaborative academic team.</p>

  <Title>Food for (parking) Fines</Title>

    <p>Parking Services is conducting our annual Fall Food for Fines campaign. The program</p>
    <p>provides the opportunity to help students, staff and faculty who are experiencing food</p>
    <p>insecurity. The program runs until Friday, November 21.</p>
    <p> </p>
    <p>How does it work? If you currently have an outstanding citation for this semester ($50</p>
    <p>or less), you can donate 5 non-perishable or 5 toiletry items to Parking Services</p>
    <p>(located at 900 Walker Avenue), and we will reduce one citation to a warning (citation</p>
    <p>cost removed). All items collected are donated to Retriever Essentials, UMBC's campus</p>
    <p>food bank.</p>
    <p> </p>
    <p>Visit parking.umbc.edu for the top requested items. We cannot accept expired items,</p>
    <p>toilet paper, paper towels and opened items. This offer does not apply to previously paid</p>
    <p>citations. We are open from 8AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday, closed for lunch from 12:30PM to 1:30PM.</p>
