Today in The Baltimore Sun, Ph.D. student Laura Mateczun and Prof. Emeritus Donald Norris published an op-ed on the need for local governments to prioritize cybersecurity.
The piece highlights Baltimore's own recent problems with cybersecurity, including the Spring 2019 attack that is expected to cost the City $18 million.
Mateczun and Norris are members of a team of UMBC researchers that conducted the first ever nationwide survey of cybersecurity elements in local governments.
