You can donate 5-10 meals to Save-a-Swipe, where they will be pooled and delegated to students experiencing food insecurity later in the semester. Information regarding Residential Life and Walker Avenue

UMBC Commuters,

Residential Life and Walker Avenue Apartments are excited to announce that this year their guaranteed housing application processes will be open to all eligible students.  If you are interested in living on campus for the upcoming academic year, please review the following information.

All students must apply for housing annually. In order to be granted access to the application you must be a currently enrolled UMBC student and in good financial standing. Students with outstanding student account balances greater than $250 will not be granted access to the application. You should contact Student Business Services to find out how to clear your account balance. 

Undergraduate students with 39 or more completed credits are eligible to apply to Walker Avenue Apartments.  The Walker Avenue Application & Contract will open on March 2, 2026 at Noon and will close on March 6, 2026 or when 500 applications have been completed. If you are interested in learning more about the Walker Avenue Apartments process, please consider attending the virtual Room Selection Overview Info Session on February 23, 2026 at 12 p.m.

All undergraduate students are eligible to apply to Residential Life housing. The Residential Life Application & Contract will open on April 1, 2026 at 9 a.m. and will close on May 1, 2026 or when 1500 applications have been completed. If you are interested in learning more about the Residential Life process, please consider attending the virtual Room Selection Overview Info Session on March 27, 206 at 12 p.m.

For starters, thank you so much for your understanding during our Free Farmers Market today. For those who are unaware, unfortunately we had to cancel due to our distributors being in an accident; we hope and pray for a speedy recovery, and that everything is ok.


A few updates that I was talking about while at the Farmers Market:

1: I ordered extra food for our Maryland Food Bank delivery next week Wednesday the 18th (roughly 2.6k pounds). This is our main contribution to the food at our pantry in the commons, not our Free Farmers Market (a couple of questions arose about it today). In addition, next week Tuesday the 17th, there will be double limits with whatever we have in stock in preparation to restock Wednesday morning. 

2: Free Farmers Market on the 19th will be at the Center for Wellbeing. For those who are unaware, it is the location in the picture seen below

We have an update about our Free Farmer's Market.

Due to the large influx of attendees to our Free Farmers Market. Starting from 2/12, we will be using a ticket system for the Farmers Market!

There will be a designated person around the waiting area with a roll of tickets in hand. Once you walk into the apartment community center (or wherever we may be), please walk towards them, retrieve your ticket, and wait patiently in the area until we start the service.

We will be calling everyone via the last 2 digits of your ticket number!

For example, if the first ticket starts with 73401, we'll call numbers from 73401 - 73415.
