Action: Review this item at the next advisory committee for support \r\n\r\nPer email form Dr. Worchesky, \'At this\r\ntime, there is no way for students/faculty/advisors to see if a course\r\nis repeatable for credit. As an example, a research course that the\r\nPhysics Department has, PHYS499. It was assumed that students could\r\ndo multiple semesters of research under this course, but it turns out\r\nthat is not the case. There is no way for me to be able to see this\r\nabout the course, in the catalog or in the Schedule of Classes\r\ndescriptions. Steve Smith says it should be taken up by the SA Advisory Committee. I would think\r\nthat this is an issue that doesn\'t need to be discussed, but should\r\njust be fixed. Hopefully you can help, since you are in charge of the\r\nRegistrar\'s Office, and are partially in charge of the SA Committee.\r\nThanks for your help.\'\r\n\r\n

This includes registration, delegated access, payment (cashnet). If CSEC endorses this Arnold will head up this project along with Pam from Registrars Office.

Status Summary: DPS survey results show that not many students are using or are aware that UMBC is live with mobile enrollments.

Enrollment management groups along with SF have been discussing which pieces of functionality to turn on next. Beyond the delegate access that's slated to be rolled out this summer, we do not have an established timeline as to when other chunks of mobile enabled SS will be rolled out. The group will discuss the next phases after the PS bundle goes the weekend of June e13th.

The outcome of this project, assuming it moves forward, will be a scope definition of how UMBC should roll out advising notes to students and communicate the change(s) and intended purpose to the UMBC community. \r\n\r\nSome questions that were brought up by the committee include:\r\n1) should all notes be available\r\n2) should the student take the notes or should / could the notes be bi-directional\r\n3) will opening up the notes to students change the purpose of advising notes, if so what should be the stated purpose of the notes be\r\n4) Should there be a notes indicator that allows an Adviser to suppress the note from appearing in the students view\r\netc...\r\n

The items that have changed are:
End Date: from 01/14/2015 to 04/22/2015 Status Summary: Pushed the date out to April of 2015 to allow for additional communications with other academic groups around campus.

Jack Suess and Yvette Mozie-Ross along with the SAAC will provide more details and providea time frame when this functionality should be introduced to students.

Project Description
Purpose of this project is to create a focus group to analyze and recommend an approach that allows students to view their advising notes, if at all. The outcome of this project, assuming it moves forward, will be a scope definition of how UMBC should roll out advising notes to students and communicate the change(s) and intended purpose to the UMBC community. \r\n\r\nSome questions that were brought up by the committee include:\r\n1) should all notes be available\r\n2) should the student take the notes or should / could the notes be bi-directional\r\n3) will opening up the notes to students change the purpose of advising notes, if so what should be the stated purpose of the notes be\r\n4) Should there be a notes indicator that allows an Adviser to suppress the note from appearing in the students view\r\netc...\r\n

The items that have changed are:
Status Summary: Committee is comfortable with the idea of making the Advising Notes available to ALL students. No longer need to create a mechanism where there are "private" notes.

Jack said that this needs to be bought to the Executive Committee for their approval also.
