QEMU Meeting
AKA: 421 and 411 crash course
Friday, October 22, 2021 · 4 - 6 PM
Hi all,
Today's meeting will be led by our Keeper of the Drinks and former VP, Henry Budris. We'll be talking about QEMU, an open-source hypervisor and emulator. QEMU is a versatile tool allowing one to emulate a variety of different hardware.
Rough meeting outline:
- What is QEMU and what is it good for?
- A machine's structure in QEMU
- Demo - implementing a simple machine
- Audience participation - you implement a simple machine
As you can see, we're going to try and squeeze in some participation at the end, so please bring your laptops!
The meeting will, as always, be hybrid, meaning you can either attend in-person or virtually. If you're comfortable with
in-person, come to ILSB237 at 4PM. If you prefer to meet virtually, join the Jitsi room at 4PM: https://meet.jit.si/SADClubFall2021Hybrid
If you have any questions at all, feel free to put a message in the Discord. Hope to see you all there!
