Hello everyone, and welcome to SAD Club! (Yes, SAD, not "SASD"; the "software" part of the name is lowercase; trust me, it works.)
TL;DR: Fill out the when2meet. Scroll down, it's in the middle of this message, in bold. You can't miss it.
With the Fall 2020 semester being what it is, it looks like we're going to have to hold all our meetings, workshops, and other activities online. No worries, though. As a sysadmin and software dev club, we're... probably more well-suited for this scenario than just about any other student org.
Altogether, about 13 people joined the Zulip server during involvement fest, and we now have a total of 45 followers on myUMBC. Awesome!
On that topic, most of our "casual" discussion is probably going to happen on the club Zulip chatroom. Only important announcements will be posted on the myUMBC group. If you have not joined Zulip yet, please consider using this invite link: https://umbcsad.crabdance.com/join/x4clh0jib4nizke1of15v5ug/ and register using your UMBC email (preferably).
We need to schedule an introductory meeting where we can discuss ideas, thoughts, proposals, projects, and so on for the Fall semester. This club is extremely open-ended, and while we (the officers) do have several ideas, we mainly want input from YOU, the members.
Once most people have entered their times of availability, we'll choose a meeting time, and I'll post the event here on myUMBC, and on Zulip.
Finally, I'll also post this Google Forms survey: https://forms.gle/AUMfjYqmM8P1xugp6 IT IS NOT REQUIRED. Ignore it if you want. Fill it all out if you want. Fill out literally one single question and leave the rest blank. The choice is yours. (But we do greatly appreciate it if you do answer a question or two!)
If you have any questions, if you want to provide input, if you need help with Zulip or when2meet, if you're just bored or something, feel free to email me at nbura1@umbc.edu.
Looking forward to a great semester!
