Rescue the Hero
They are inspired (especially lyrically) by “situations and events that happen to us and our friends. Everything from struggling to stay together and grow as a band, to significant others and making love.” When asked to describe their music, RTH replied, “It’s heavy pop punk, you’ll find yourself singing with every word and at the same time, rocking out and banging your head a little bit.”
If you haven’t seen these guys live, you definitely have to check out one of their shows – and make sure to keep an eye out for their upcoming sophomore EP (titled Closer Than Family) out in May.
When you see a live band that you’ve never heard before, it’s not typical to be instantly hooked – but that’s totally what happened when I saw Rescue the Hero at last month’s Syke show (Down N’ Dirty Fest @ Jaxx). These guys have a lot going for them. From finely tuned skills to well-versed song writing, they have a strong cohesiveness that just makes everything mesh. They’ve formed a tight musical bond and strong stage presence, and breathtaking live show – they’ve been together for 2 ½ years as Rescue the Hero and were making music together in other bands (Elias Cascara, and Knoxville to name a few) before that.
