BCPSS event for engineering students: attracting diversity

We had a great event this evening promoting engineering to high school students in Baltimore County Public School System (BCPSS). Two universities had presence: UMBC and Johns Hopkins. For UMBC Gina King, director of undergraduate admission and myself, Mohammad Samarah. Several students from local Baltimore County high schools attended the event including Western High School, founded in 1844 and the oldest all-girls public high school in the nation, https://westernhighschool.org/. There was also presence from schoolteachers and industry professionals from Amazon and Northrop Grumman.
All events, groups, organizations, and centers are open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
