Student Org Spotlight : UMBC UNICEF UNICEF stands for United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. It is a worldwide nonprofit service organization that provides aid and relief to children and families who need it most. They are one of the first organizations to serve people in need when a disaster/crisis strikes. As a club, we advocate for children's rights and needs, as well as raise funds to help UNICEF send food, water, clothing, vaccines, school supplies, and other life essentials to communities in need.

We are looking for several support staff members to supplement and support the work of all individuals in the Executive Branch.  These positions include a Chief of Staff -- an individual tasked with the day-to-day operations of the SGA; a Coordinator of Internal Affairs -- an individual to manage SGA resources; a coordinator for our ProveIT! Program (see sga.umbc.edu/proveit); a liaison between the SGA and our University colleagues; a Communications Director; and a webmaster.

UMBC SGA's Senate & Finance Board have vacancies for the Spring 2017 semester!


We are currently seeking motivated students interested in working on initiatives with the UMBC campus to make positive change.


Senate meets every Monday evening at 5:30pm, meetings are held in Commons 318. You will be required to stay for the duration of the meeting, which have no end time and have been know to run as late as 11:00pm. In addition to attending meetings, Senators are required to be a member of at least two Shared Governance Committees on campus that meet at various times, and work on initiatives around campus.


Finance Board meets every Tuesday evening at 5:30pm, also in Commons 318. The Finance Board has openings for both Finance Board Members and First Year Ambassadors. All members of the board are expected to attend the meetings in their entirety, which have been know to run past 11:00pm at times.


Applications will be available until Wednesday, February 1st at 11:59 pm.
