    <div class="html-content">The Shriver Center's Choice Program is currently recruiting for  several <strong>AmeriCorps Community Service Learning Fellowship</strong>s opening throughout the Greater Baltimore region.  <br><br>The Choice Program is a community-based, family-centered case management 
    approach to delinquency prevention and youth development. Focusing on 
    providing support in at-risk environments, The Choice Program empowers 
    youth and engages families through a multitude of services adapted to 
    individual needs. The program seeks to foster resiliency in young people

    <div class="html-content"><blockquote><div><div><div><strong>AVAILABLE POSITIONS:</strong><p>UMBC STEM Initiative (USI) is an out-of-school time program for 1st-4th graders at Lakeland Elementary Middle School, created with two things in mind:  students' academic and personal growth.  <br></p><br>USI has four Fellows positions to fill:<br><ul><li>2 Fellows serve on Mondays &amp; Wednesdays, 2:30-6:30 pm</li><li>2 Fellows serve on Tuesdays &amp; Thursdays, 2:30-6:30 pm. <br></li></ul>Ideally, applicants would be available on BOTH days.  Lakeland Elementary Middle School is located in South Baltimore, 15 minutes from UMBC.  Preference is given to applicants who can commit to the full 27-week program calendar:  September 30-December 12, 2013 and January 6-May 16, 2014. <br></div><div><br></div><div><strong>STIPENDS:</strong></div><div>A stipend of $2200 is offered for fulfillment of the total commitment, 8 hours per week for 27 weeks.  Fellows will be enrolled in The Shriver Center's 096 Community Service &amp; Learning Leadership Practicum.  All majors are welcomed, those with STEM majors are strongly encouraged.  This is also a great opportunity for aspiring elementary teachers who could strengthen their science and math skills by being paired with Fellows who have STEM backgrounds.  Graduate students are welcomed to apply!</div></div></div></blockquote><div><div><div><div><br>

     Governor’s Summer Internship Program introduces college students to the
     unique challenges and rewards of working within MD State Government 
    while earning a $3,000 stipend.  For 10 weeks (June 3 – August 9), 
    interns:- Work in state government agencies on substantive projects, 
    including drafting speeches and correspondence, tracking legislation, 
    attending hearings, assisting with constituent case work, and 
    researching policy options.  - Participate in seminars with top Maryland
     officials and make site visits to State facilities.  - Develop policy 
    papers on a significant issue facing Maryland (e.g. the Chesapeake Bay,

    <strong>POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: </strong>Provides support to the Access to Healthy 
    Food Initiative by assisting with United Way of Central Maryland’s’ 
    healthy food drives, food access research, and document creation.<br>
              <br>
    <strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong> include, but are not limited to:<br>
    <strong>Healthy Food Drives</strong><br>
              - Work with Impact Strategies Program 
    Specialist to organize healthy food drives via email and phone with 
    United Way of Central Maryland work place campaigns and independent 
    schools in central Maryland, as well as food drive data management.<br>
              - Help to strategize innovative ways to reach college age students.<br>
              <br>
    <strong>Food Access Research</strong><br>
              - Aid as needed with the research of 
    food access issues information including: statistics, current programs 
    and best practices. Information may be collected via internet research, 
    cold calling organizations and attending informational 
    meetings/sessions.<br>

     Governor’s Summer Internship Program introduces college students to the
     unique challenges and rewards of working within MD State Government 
    while earning a $3,000 stipend.  For 10 weeks (June 3 – August 9), 
    interns:- Work in state government agencies on substantive projects, 
    including drafting speeches and correspondence, tracking legislation, 
    attending hearings, assisting with constituent case work, and 
    researching policy options.  - Participate in seminars with top Maryland
     officials and make site visits to State facilities.  - Develop policy 
    papers on a significant issue facing Maryland (e.g. the Chesapeake Bay, 
    crime, care for the elderly) and present their findings in person to the
     Governor.</span></span></p><p><span><span><strong>WALTER SONDHEIM JR.      The Maryland Nonprofit Leadership Program offers paid summer internship
     opportunities in the nonprofit sector to college juniors, seniors, and 
    graduate students attending Maryland institutions.  Participating 
    interns work for ten weeks full-time from June4th to August 10h while 
    participating in bi-weekly seminars in nonprofit management.  Each 
    participating student receives a $3,000 stipend.</span></span></p><p><span><span><strong><span>MDOT FELLOWS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM</span></strong> <strong></strong><strong>(<a href="http://www.shrivercenter.org/mdot" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">http://shrivercenter.umbc.edu/students/the-scholars-programs/mdot/</a>), Deadline: March 8th  </strong>The
     Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Fellows Internship Program
     is designed to introduce Maryland’s most promising college students to 
    the rewards and challenges of working within Maryland’s integrated 
    transportation system.  Interns can gain experience in policy 
    development, marketing, international relations, computer networking, 
    engineering, planning and financing, public relations, and neighborhood 
    conservation.  Placement opportunities are available at the MD Aviation 
    Administration, MD Port Administration, MD Transit Administration, Motor
     Vehicle Administration, MD State Highway Administration, MD 
    Transportation Authority, or The Secretary’s Office. Participating
