THIS SATURDAY, April 1st, is the 10th Annual Service-Learning & Civic Engagement Conference, "Be the Spark for Action" at Towson University. This event has major roots in UMBC (for more info, go to History).  

Jackie Thomas will lead a workshop on how community service has affected her personal and professional goals. Jackie was a participant in Class one of the Baltimore Collegetown Network's LeaderShape Program. She became a Choice Community Service Learning AmeriCorps Fellow and recently returned to The Choice Program as a Service Coordinator in Baltimore City. 

Other UMBC connections include Community Partner Award Finalists Reading Partners and Baltimore City Community College Refugee Youth Project.
