    <td>The incumbent will work as part of the Academic Affairs Other Units (AAOU) Shared Services Center (SSC) team and will be primarily responsible for processing a variety of administrative transactions for the departments being serviced by the AAOU SSC.  Responsibilities will be apportioned over four functional areas:  payroll, accounts payable, HR/hiring, and procurement.  Duties will include processing bi-weekly payroll, change PAR and CAR requests, miscellaneous payment requests, travel reimbursements, working fund requests, journal entries, new hire paperwork, and purchase orders and requisitions.  Additional responsibilities to include monthly reconciliation, budget review and analysis, and other assigned duties and projects upon periodic request by the departments and/or AAOU SSC Assistant Director.  Note: This position is open to current UMBC employees only.  </td>

    <td><strong><u>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</u>:</strong></td>
    <td>Education/Experience: Requires a High School Diploma/GED and six years progressively responsible experience in a combination of budgeting, accounting, payroll, purchasing, and personnel work, one year of which involved full supervisory responsibility.  Must have excellent communication, customer service, organizational, computer, problem-solving, and time management skills.  Familiarity with the UMBC PeopleSoft systems, policies, and procedures.  MS Excel experience preferred.  Note: Position will require a background check. </td>

    <Title>Shared Services Centers Town Hall Meeting (12/4)</Title>

          <div><span>In our continuing effort to keep the campus informed and to allow for input and feedback, <strong>you are invited to attend a Shared Services Centers (SSC) Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, December 4, 2014, 10-11 a.m., in University Center, Room 312.</strong></span></div>

          <div>The Shared Services Centers (SSC) Team, which includes the Business Process Improvement, Communication, and Human Resources (BPI) Work Groups, as well as our Advisory Council, is moving forward with establishment of our initial two Phase I Shared Services Centers and many business process improvements.</div>
          <div><br></div>
          <div>Work groups have completed documentation of all current business processes and are busy mapping future business processes to assist in focusing our BPI efforts.</div>
          <div><br></div>
          <div>Our initial two Phase I Shared Services Centers in the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences (CNMS) and Academic Affairs Other Units (AAOU) now have leaders in place and will soon begin the staffing process.</div>
          <div><br></div>
          <div>BPI background and the work group summaries are posted on the <a href="http://my.umbc.edu/groups/ssc/documents" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Shared Services Centers myUMBC group</a>.           <div><strong>SSC Town Hall Meeting Objectives:</strong></div>

          <li><span>To update the campus with additional details on Shared Services Centers (SSC) progress.</span></li>
          <li><span>To introduce our SSC leadership to the campus community.</span></li>

    <Title>Announcement of the Shared Services Centers Task Force</Title>

          <p>We are excited to announce that a Task Force has been established to research and develop a plan for establishment and implementation of shared services centers at UMBC.  In accordance with UMBC's tradition, the Task Force will seek input from all UMBC stakeholders, and will maintain open two way communication as to its progress.  The task force is confident that our work will contribute to UMBC's reputation and future as we stay focused on the academic program, supporting people, and pursuing our priorities of effective and efficient administrative infrastructure to accommodate our continued growth.</p>
          <p><span>We encourage the UMBC community to provide ideas and input to the task force as we move forward.  We have established this myUMBC group to provide updates on progress and as a vehicle to communicate with us. Please go to your myUMBC home page, choose "Groups" from the drop down menu, then "Browse/Search Groups" for the "Shared Services Centers at UMBC" group. Click the blue "Follow Group" button on the top left. This will enable you to communicate with the Task Force and enable the Task Force to provide you with updates as we move forward on this initiative.</span><span>  </span></p>
