Today, May 19, 2022 is Global Accessibility Awareness Day
AND it's also Mental Health Action Day!
Office of Student Disability Services
May 19, 2022 at 7:52 PM
The significance of today is important as we
see Accessibility and Mental Health Awareness as part of every day.
"Action looks different for everyone. Mental Health
Action Day encourages and empowers people to take action for themselves, for
their loved ones, or for their community according to their personal
preferences." https://www.mentalhealthaction.network/
"The
purpose of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is to get everyone
talking, thinking and learning about digital access/inclusion and
people with different disabilities. GAAD's mission
is to disrupt the culture of technology and digital product development
to include accessibility as a core requirement." https://accessibility.day/
All events, groups, organizations, and centers are open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
