Interact is a 5-week program where students develop the skills to engage in dialogues across difference–skills that are especially relevant in the current social and political climate. Through 5 short sessions, you will learn and practice the necessary SKILLS to become INCLUSIVE LEADERS and ENGAGED COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
Students will meet in small groups and with peer facilitators for a short, weekly session to learn foundational dialogues skills, and to practice empathetic and generous listening, cross-cultural storytelling, and critical self-reflection. After the 5-week experience, students will have an opportunity to continue practicing dialogue skills and deepening their relationships around current events including the COVID-19 pandemic, the coming election, and more.
By completing INTERACT Dialogues, you will join hundreds of other students who have made the commitment to ensure that UMBC is a place where all students feel that they belong. What is dialogue? Dialogue is a focused and intentional conversation where people listen deeply and share authentically.
