COVID-19 Health & Safety
- UMBC’s Public Health Dashboard was updated with new data on November 4. The dashboard provides timely data about the prevalence of COVID-19 within our main campus. There were three new positive cases during this reporting period.
- Are you preparing to go home for the holidays? This is an important read if you are headed home or plan to visit others over the Thanksgiving holiday.
End-of-Semester Hours for UC Dining Facilities
- Beginning today, the Chick-fil-A and Starbucks in the University Center will operate on a reduced schedule for the remainder of the semester as follows:
- November 5-20:
- Chick-fil-A: Monday-Thursday, 12 p.m. ﹘ 7 p.m. and Friday, 12 p.m. ﹘ 4 p.m.; closed weekends
- Starbucks: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. ﹘ 4 p.m.; closed weekends

November 23-25:
- Chick-fil-A: Monday-Wednesday, Closed
- Starbucks: Monday-Tuesday, 9 a.m. ﹘ 4 p.m., and Wednesday, 9 a.m. ﹘ 3 p.m.

- Rejuvenate, refresh, and recharge with Retriever Recharge, your dedicated 15 minutes of daily self-care. Join us for these immersive micro-classes that tend to your body, mind, and spirit. With modalities from yoga, qi gong, and meditation to strength training, there is something for everyone. As always, make sure you consult with your physician prior to starting any new fitness program. New sessions are posted at noon, Monday-Friday. Counseling Center’s Women of Color Coping Circle
- The Counseling Center is offering a weekly drop-in Women of Color Coping Circle. The next session will be held Friday, November 6 at 2 p.m.
Reminder: Open Enrollment for Health Benefits
- Faculty and Staff: Human Resources will host a final live virtual open enrollment information session on Tuesday, November 10. During open enrollment, employees can enroll in and/or make changes to their health benefits effective January 1, 2021. Employees choosing to make a healthcare or dependent care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) election for 2021 MUST login to SPS Workday prior to 5 p.m. on November 13. Employees who are not making an FSA election or other health benefit changes do not need to take action. Employees should visit the HR website for more information and detailed instructions.
