Aside from being chart toppers and the greatest pun in music, the Beatles are also one of music’s biggest influences. The “Fab Four” rocked the 1960s and early 70s with a constantly evolving sound. Using elements from classical, pop, rock, and Indian music, among others, the Beatles created a mix of both classic and eclectic hits that still resonate today.

MUSC 336: The Beatles: Career, Music, Culture, Innovation, Impact explores the Beatles’ cultural, political, and social impact on Western culture (both past and present) while also discussing fundamental elements of their music – melody, harmony, rhythm and more. MUSC 336 does not require any musical training, allowing for all music lovers to enjoy!
MUSC 336 is an 8-week online course offered during summer session I, and it fulfills the Arts and Humanities GEP requirement.
