          <div><span>Green Chemistry is the utilization of a set of principles that reduces or eliminates the use or generation of hazardous substances in the design, manufacture, and application of chemical products or experiments. UMBC's Office's of Sustainability and Environmental Safety and Health  have designed this databased  based on research from <a href="https://ehs.mit.edu/green-chemistry/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">MIT.</a> </span></div>

          <div><span>Please use one of the three searches in the database to identify the chemical (or chemical group i.e. CFCs) you are interested in replacing. The tables will display the potential substitutions, details, and any pros or cons associated with the substitution. You can print the results to a PDF page. </span></div>

          <p>UMBC is pleased to support the <a href="https://www.mygreenlab.org/ambassador-program.html" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">My Green Lab Ambassador Program.</a> The program is designed for scientists and laboratory professionals who are motivated to encourage their lab to be more sustainable. <span>This free, online learning program</span> will provide you with a quick introduction to lab sustainability and ideas for how sustainable actions can be implemented at your organization. By becoming a My Green Lab Ambassador you will be able to jumpstart your lab’s journey into sustainability.</p>
          <p>Labs that have successfully completed the My Green Lab Ambassador Program should submit a copy of their certificate to the sustainability office. Those labs will be considered UMBC Green Labs!</p>
