University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) has received a Silver rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) for its leadership and innovation in university sustainability. The STARS rating system (Sustainability, Tracking, Assessment & Rating System) is an extensive process looking at the operational, curricular, research, and administrative aspects of sustainability in a university.
