FREE Gentle Power Vinyasa Style Yoga Classes
Monday, October 1, 2018 · 7:45 - 8:45 AM
The Gentle Power is a slower paced flow focusing on posture and alignment. We do fewer poses over a longer period of time, developing our yogic breathing (pranayama) and knowledge of foundational postures (asanas). With more focus on stretching rather than power exercise, it’s a great way to start your day and head to class.
You will need to bring water, a hand towel, and a yoga mat. The mat need not be anything special, as these classes are not heated. However, I recommend you do not get anything thicker than 5-6mm, as thicker mats work against your ability to balance. The mat is important to your hasta bandha (hand grip) to ensure safety in class. Any UMBC student, faculty and staff are welcome! You will need to show your ID at the door. As of now, I cannot invite those outside of the UMBC community. Please note the door will be locked when class starts and late arrivals will not be admitted without prior notification. Questions? Email Eric at abele@umbc.edu.
