Fall Hours for Our Spaces
Welcome Back UMBC Community Members!
Fall means shorter days, cooler temperatures, changing colors of the leaves and brand new extended hours across our three spaces!
Beginning this Wednesday, August 30, 2017, fall hours for our three spaces will be in effect. Please see below for further details:
Mosaic Center
Commons, Room 2B23 (Same level as GameRoom and Flat Tuesdays)
Sunday: Closed
Monday-Thursday: 10AM-7PM
Friday: 10AM-5PM
Saturday: Closed
**Interfaith Center
Student Success and Development Center (Right next to Student Judicial Programs)
Sunday-Saturday: 7AM-11PM
Accessible only by UMBC Campus (Red) ID
Queer Student Lounge
University Center, 201-D (Same floor as the English Language Institute)
Sunday: Closed
Monday-Friday: 7AM-11PM
Saturday: Closed
Accessible only by UMBC Campus (Red) ID
**Please note that although Fall hours are in effect 08/30/17, the Interfaith Center is temporarily CLOSED due to construction. We will be sure to keep you posted with further updates when the center reopens.
We would also like to extend a warm welcome to all the brand new students, staff and faculty joining us this year.
Make sure to make a stop by the Mosaic to learn more about all of our three spaces and say hello to one of our staff members and/or interns!

Starting in 1968 as National Hispanic Heritage Week and incorporating September 15 and 16, the independence days for Central American nations and Mexico, respectively, the period was expanded in 1988 to National Hispanic Heritage Month. Each year the National Council of Hispanic Employment Program Managers and the Hispanic Foundation select a theme for the month and commission a poster to reflect that theme.

The term "American Indian" incorporates hundreds of different tribes and approximately 250 languages. Starting in 1976 as Native American Awareness Week, the period was expanded by Congress and approved by President George H. W. Bush in August 1990 by designating the month of November as National American Indian Heritage Month. In his proclamation for 1996, President William J. Clinton noted, "Throughout our history, American Indian and Alaska Native peoples have been an integral part of the American character. Against all odds, America's first peoples have endured, and they remain a vital cultural, political, social, and moral presence."
