We have unpublished the outdated TransLoc Transit Visualization Android application from the Google Play store. After many years of offering this legacy app, we're moving forward with updated products that provide a better rider experience. In this email, you'll find some answers to some questions you may have about this change.
What exactly does "unpublished" mean?
When an app is unpublished from the Google Play store, it is no longer available for download. Existing users of the old TransLoc app will be totally unaffected. The app will continue to work on every phone where it is already installed.
Where should riders go to get an app now?
TransLoc webpages link to our flagship app, Rider. This app is available for Android and iOS. If you want to link from your own webpage to the app, we recommend this URL: www.transloc.com/app. For links to specific versions of the app, you can use www.transloc.com/iphone or www.transloc.com/android.
What will riders still using the old TransLoc app expect?
For now, nothing will change. At a later date, we’ll share a plan for migrating existing users from the old TransLoc app. We want to ensure users are getting the best experience available.
What about riders with older Android devices?
The old TransLoc app doesn't have all the rich features of our newer products, like the Rider app. The vast majority of Android users (over 99%) have a device that Rider supports. As mobile technology changes and adapts, we will too.
