I hope you were able to enjoy a time of rest over the break. As you kick off a new semester, below are some key dates, reminders, and announcements to put on your calendar.
Grad School Deadlines
For those planning to graduate in May, please note the following deadlines:
- February 15 is the last day to apply for graduation
- Complete Human Subjects Use Training, if relevant. Click here for more information.
- Thesis candidates need to submit their Final Masters Exam Committee form two monthsprior to the thesis defense. *NOTE: Portfolio students do not need to submit a Final Masters Exam Committee form.
- May 1 is the graduate school deadline for final thesis submission

Funding Opportunities
The spring deadline for the TTL Small Grants program is February 28th! You are eligible to apply for up to $500 in research funds. See the pinned post on the TTL myUMBC page for further details or reach out to dicuirci@umbc.edu. The Dresher Center also offers small grants to TTL students. Save the Date: Brown Bag Lunch
On Wednesday, February 5 between 11:30-1:30 p.m, bring your lunch to the graduate lounge to catch up with your cohort. We will also discuss launching an informal writing accountability group.
