Theology of the Body, Part I - presented by Donna Moga
Why Your Mother Told You Not to Settle: ToB in Daily Life
Wednesday, October 5, 2011 · 6:15 - 7:30 PM
On Campus : Interfaith Center
Many Catholics know the what of Catholic teaching, at least in theory, but have trouble getting to the why. In the Theology of the Body, Blessed John Paul II gave the Church a profound spiritual and intellectual understanding of why Catholics believe and act the way they do. What we have here is a deep reflection on the dignity of the human person, what it means to be made in the image and likeness of God, and what it means to love and be loved in a fulfilling and enriching way.
Catholic Campus Ministry presents Ms. Donna Moga! Donna will be leading us into this rich treasure of Theology of the Body and helping us to apply it in our daily life.
Donna graduated from the University of Scranton with a triple major in History, Philosophy, and Theology. After graduation, she entered the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest before serving as Campus Minister at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. She then went to the Catholic University of America, completing her M.A. degree and doctoral coursework (abd) in Moral Theology, focusing on Marriage, Sexuality, and Virtue. She is now in her fifth year teaching Theology at St. John's College High School in Northwest D.C.
Donna will be giving 2 presentations (Oct. 5 and Oct. 12), and there will be time for questions and answers.
If you are able, Mass is at 5:15. Dinner will begin after Mass and Donna will speak at 6:15 as dinner is underway.
Please come for this fantastic opportunity to have a deeper understanding of the love of God, the dignity of the human person, and the call to love!
