AIChE Updates! Elections, Upcoming GBMs, and MORE!
Hey AIChE'rs! Gentle reminder, do not forget to sign up for elections (mentioned earlier if you choose to run).

Our next AIChE GBM will be held on Monday April 12th during free hour (12pm-1pm). The meeting is our CBEE townhall. Some of you may remember from last year, however, the meeting primarily consists of Dr. Marten, the department chair and Dr. C answering your questions about the department, listening to your thoughts and idea about the CBEE department and much more! YOU guide the conversation, so it is super important that you come and are heard!

How to participate in the CBEE townhall:

1) This google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfNYZwflBNLqwqCZtgbl-Wf8C9g1RkGe61HYVSC6THl19zsGg/viewform, which is completely anonymous, so be open but respectful; the ideas and questions will be asked and told to both the speakers by the host, no input from you required; except to fill out the form prior to the meeting so your thoughts can be shared. SO please fill this form out in advance if you want to make sure your comments are shared.

2) You can either voice your thoughts to the speakers during the meeting or DM the host during the meeting and they can ask your question. 



TL;DR : Our next AIChE meeting is on Monday April 12th it is the CBEE townhall, fill out the google form with your questions (completely anonymous)  and make sure to attend the meeting if you want your questions answered.

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Annual Student Conference and Annual Meeting will be held virtually this month from November 13th to the 20th. UMBC AIChE is searching for 2 additional AIChE members to attend the conferences this year, along with the ChemE Jeopardy and Chem-E-Car teams. FOR FREE!

This conference will give students the opportunity to network with industry professionals, attend recruitment fairs, participate in both live and pre-recorded webinars, and engage in career development training, which can help you become a stronger student, applicant, and future leader. 

If you are interested in this attending this virtual conference please do the following by November 8th @ 5:00 p.m.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference is fast approaching! Our UMBC AIChE Chapter has two Jeopardy teams competing, so make sure you come by and support UMBC!!! 

Also, feel free to stop by the ChemE car competitions. We aren't sending any teams this year for ChemE car, but it will still be a really good and fun experience for everyone interested in ChemE Car!

As mentioned in our first General Body Meeting on 9/14/20, we are looking for a first year representative for the AIChE Eboard. If you want to get involved in AIChE, this is a great start!


The form to run for the Freshman Representative Position Survey is: https://forms.gle/3KuhzcENmnronQMF7. Please read the google survey carefully when filling it out.


We are also EXCITED to announce AIChE's Mentoring Program as previously discussed in the meeting. The form for the Mentoring Survey is: https://forms.gle/Hf57wnGuMmrdNYdT8. The form is both if you wanted to become a Mentor or Mentee, or you can also be both if you desire. This program is also a great way to meet new friends, interact with the ChemE department or simply getting involved.
