The size of the team varies year to year. We are looking for hard working, dedicated team members with positive attitudes. At virtual auditions you'll be taught the UMBC Fight Song and asked to demonstrate a toe touch, an additional jump, tumbling (if you have it cleanly) and spirit. You do not have to be trained cheerleader to audition. Some of the most successful team members are those who do not have cheerleading experience but have a passion for cheer and are willing to work hard to get up to speed quickly.
