Taekwondo translates as "the way of the hand and fist." Taekwondo originated in Korean, but now practiced internationally.
We are a free UMBC club that welcomes all students regardless of ability or experience. Our purpose is to become more aware of one's mental and physical potential and to develop the attributes of dignity, self-respect, honor, and humility.
We have several black belt masters that come to campus to safely instruct students how to do simple and complex techniques, sparring, and forms. In class we work as team to improve ourselves and each other. Joining our club requires dedication and hard work but offers great rewards in improvement of physical and mental abilities, fitness, and friendship.
We meet 7-8:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the RAC Fitness Studio. There is also supplemental 4-6pm Saturday Practices.
