Welcome to our new Weekly Spotlights for the UMBC Together initiative! Like the name states, The UMBC Together Weekly Spotlights will come out at the beginning of each week. These weekly posts will include some ways you and/or your office can stay connected with the wider UMBC community by informing you of select events, programs, resources, as well as some tips and tricks to maximize your virtual campus experience.
Here are some items to check out this week (May 26th-29th):

Resources
Students:Taking a summer course? Make sure to follow the Summer Session: Beyond the Classroom myUMBC group to stay up to date with engaging learning opportunities.
Faculty:Summer 2020 has gone virtual. We encourage you to check out and follow resources for teaching online (like Instructional Technology and the Faculty Development Center) and opportunities to stay connected online throughout the summer!
Tip of the week: How to use our #UMBCTogether Hashtag and have your events filtered through the UMBC Together website.
Our #UMBCTogether is utilized to filter posts created by UMBC Community Members onto our UMBC Together Webpage. This hashtag works across four social media different platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube) and currently does not support tags created through myUMBC posts and events. For posts, pictures and other social media content, we encourage you to always include this hashtag if you would like them to be shown through the UMBC Together Website.
If you have created an event through myUMBC, we ask that you post it as an event and not a post. You can set the location as “online” and write further details in the subscription. This will be the only way your event will appear under the “Events” tab in the UMBC Together Website. Feel free to contact us if you have further questions.
