Come to URCAD on Wednesday, April 25, Psychology major Iman Said will present her research "The Role of Socioeconomic Status on the Relationship Between Number of Marginalized Identities and Mental Health".
Despite the correlation between experiences of marginalization and negative mental health outcomes, little research exists regarding the effect of socioeconomic status on this relationship. Although socioeconomic status can increase access to resources (e.g., healthcare, therapy, higher education) the impact of these privileges on the mental health of marginalized individuals is understudied.
