TODAY, Wednesday, November 5th is the deadline to withdraw from individual courses "W" OR change grading methods to Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory "S/U".
W/S/U course options count as an attempt in the class but do NOT impact your GPA.
If withdrawing from one or more courses will bring you to less than full time status (12 credits) there may be impacts in other areas such as scholarship, financial aid, and on-campus housing. Questions about those areas should be directed to the appropriate office.
You will want to work through this helpful withdraw worksheet for more information on the withdraw policy, procedure, and checklist BEFORE you make any decisions.

Withdrawing from individual courses can be done via the Schedule and Registration system in myUMBC however S/U grading requires the submission of a request ticket. Additional information about S/U grading and the link to submit a grade change request can be found here.
Students can withdraw from the entire semester though the last day of classes, December 9th.

Please consider attending our upcoming Virtual Green Zone Ally Training, taking place on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This session serves as a form of diversity and cultural awareness training that highlights the experiences of veterans in higher education. It's open to all students, staff, and faculty, and provides an excellent opportunity especially during our Annual Veterans Week, for our campus community to learn more about the unique challenges and strengths of our student veterans at UMBC.
Participants will gain valuable insight into how they can better support UMBC's veteran and military-affiliated population, both inside and outside the classroom. The flyer is attached to this post.
