Rising CO2 Levels Could Be a Result of Blowing Too Much Loud

Ecologists at the University of Colorado have revealed what appears to be a major cause of steadily increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide levels over the past few decades. According to a paper published in The Chronic-le this past weekend, we can thank the dank for taking out the polar ice caps.

The study shows that the vast majority of the world’s fires are occurring in small bursts at the tips of water bongs and drug-cigarettes. This persistence of heavy, dangerous dope-smoking started as early as 1971, when Black Sabbath dropped Master of Reality, which is also when atmospheric CO2 levels started rising exponentially. The study, conducted over five years, primarily involved an elite group of scientists setting up a room full of barometers and CO2 detectors and smoking 5-7 grams of “Jet Fuel” strand marijuana over the course of three hours.

“To be blunt,” says project manager Jamie Stewart, “I’m not sure if our current level of loud-blowing is environmentally sustainable. If we’re going to keep a green mind, we might want to investigate vaporized alternatives.”

The response from the citizens of Colorado has been controversial to say the least. More than 50% of citizens who saw the article on Instagram did not smash the fuckin’ like button. “I think they’re just being paranoid,” comments @cannibinol2258. “Just because things are bad doesn’t necessarily mean the grass is greener on the other side. If anything, we should smoke more cannabis and just forget about the whole thing.”

March to College Day 4/22

 <Tagline>Teach 7th graders about why college rocks!</Tagline>

March to College day is coming up on Friday April 22nd! This day brings all the 7th grade students at Arbutus Middle School to UMBC. Students will learn about how to prepare for college and what opportunities are available on campus.

There are two ways you can get involved.

1) Between 10:30-11:30 give 2 twenty minute talks on college. In past years volunteers gave talks on stress relief, budgeting, and student organizations. These talks will be made by volunteers and can be on whatever subject is interesting to them. Volunteers will send me either a transcription or a presentation on their talk for approval. Some volunteers may do these talks in groups, depending on the amount of volunteers.

2) Between 12:00-1:30 lead two 30 minutes tours across campus. Volunteers get to pick what location they find most interesting across campus and show them to their students. This gives volunteers an opportunity to show their students what makes college special to them. Volunteers should submit a rough outline of what tour locations they want to go to. All tours will start and end at Erickson field. Some volunteers may do these tours in groups depending on the amount of volunteers.

If you would be interested in volunteering, please let Max know at maxpool1@umbc.edu.
