Potbelly Sandwich Shop; The Other Sandwich Shop

Potbelly is a place that most of my friends go to, yet I never eaten there before a couples years ago. I was told that their sandwiches are amazing, but I never thought anything of it until my best friend, Alex Robinson, started working at a Potbelly in Annapolis. Naturally, wanting to visit him, I decided to get a sandwich and see what the hub bub was all about.

They have about 7 or 8 different kinds of sandwiches ranging from typical sandwiches like the Italian, crazy ones like the “Wreck,” and the Vegetarian. I’m a big Italian [sandwich] guy so naturally I had to try it out. They have two sizes: Original ($4.40) and Big ($5.40), which is 30% more than a regular. Also, they have a section called the Skinnys ($4.00), which has 3 sandwiches with lower amounts of calories. It’s mandatory that they oven bake their sandwiches. You get a choice of many additional toppings that are typical of any other sub place. I asked for everything except tomatoes ― I’m not a big fan of tomatoes.

So with my first bite, I was hit with flavor. The meat was delicious, the bread was baked to perfection; there was literally nothing wrong with this sub. I guess the only real bad thing about it was the amount of oil in the sandwich.

Ever since my first day eating there, Potbelly has held a special place in my heart. There is a Potbelly near Arundel Mills right by Chipotle, but there is another just 12 minutes away from UMBC and I’ll add the address at the bottom of this post. I highly recommend going!

Until next time,
